Witte Game Dinner.

Last March, a friend and Lilly coworker, Jody Lutz called and asked if Blake and I would chair the Witte Museum's Game Dinner Silent Auction Committee for 2009. Last night and 7 months later was the wonderful and successful evening and we celebrated!
Blake and I asked friend's Elizabeth and Kevin Cox to co-chair the committee with us. Along with our other 10 couples, we set a goal of $50,000 of donations from all over the community. We knew in this economy it was going to be more difficult this year as many businesses have drastically cut back on donations. However, we took the assignment head on as a team!

I am so proud of our committee and we ultimately ended up collecting nearly $52,000 in fantastic items. Several of our silent auction items were taken and used in the live auction packages!

This is my "real" husband and "work" husband. Blake and Derek.
We ate the night away. Venison enchiladas, amazing papaya, quail cooked 3 different ways and every other game meat you could think of. The presentation was spectacular.

Our good friend and fellow committee member, Ben McPeak was the entertainment for the night. We danced the night away to his great music.

A special thanks to our committee members - Megan and Mike Perkins, Maria and Archie Lopez, Terri and Ben McPeak, Terri and Robert Pease, Derek and Ashlee Tarin, Sakarra and Barry Biggs, Christin and Rob Gish, Emily and Clint Forney, Heather and Cody Aimes and Cara and Anthony Battaglia. I think the 24 of us make a GREAT team! We had so much fun last night.

Happy 34 months to Carter!

I can't believe in 2 short months you will have your 3rd birthday. You are still such a sweet, sincerely loving little boy! You have definitely continued to be very sensitive at times especially in new environments or when you wake up from a nap. We often comment that you have these incredibly over the top amazing moments of affection and sweetness towards everyone and then these moments of just pure emotional breakdowns, as if it is the hardest thing being this age. However, we have recently noticed you are becoming VERY outgoing with people, who in the past, you have taken a few minutes to warm up to. Like Uncle Mike, Grandpa, Pops and PaPa. We love it.
Favorite Things at this age: Favorite TV's shows: "Super Why," "Little Einsteins." "Backyardigans," "Preschool Prep Company Sight Word Videos; Favorite Toys: Trains, mini race cars and trucks, tricycle rides, Favorite Books: My First Picture Encyclopedia and any BOOKS, BOOKS, and more BOOKS! Sea World is a great age for him, he sits super still and interested in shows, loves the penguin and dolphin exhibits and the nets, tunnels and slides in the kid play area! (Really starting at 2.5 he loved shows!)

Carter's 1st Bike-a-Thon

After a week delay due to the much needed rain here in San Antonio, Friday turned out to be the most PERFECT day for Carter's class to take part in the St. Jude Bike-A-Thon. Because Carter got moved up early to the 3 year old class, this was the first year he has been old enough to participate!

He had so much fun with Cash riding around and around in a circle for 30 minutes! Even Addie's class came out for support the cause.

Sunday Vist to the Zoo (I Mean Lolli and Pops!)

This past Sunday, dad, Nancy and Danielle had us over for dinner. It was such a fun evening and the kids LOVED getting to see "Buddy," the parrot as well as the newest member of the "Blagg Family" - a little gerbil. Carter and Addie were OBSESSED with both and they proved to be quite the entertainment all night!

Aunt Danielle offered to try to make Carter some homemade play dough.

I have to take a second and brag on my incredibly talented half-sister Danielle who is a junior at Smithson Valley this year. This picture below shows the over 40 incredible schools that have contacted her since the official September 1st open communication date. In there is almost every single Ivy League school around the country. She is on a visit to Pepperdine in Malibu right now! We are so proud of her.

Baby Perkins #2.

And this time it will definitely be without a "Baby Brown" being born a few days later, like last time! In fact, at the time this picture was taken, Blake and I had NO IDEA that there really was a "Little Perkins" in there! (The wind was trying to tell us!)
Congratulations to our best friends (who again are going to make us wait to determine the sex of the baby until his/her due date in late April 2010!) Welcome to our world of 2. We are so glad to have you with us! We love you FOUR!

South Texas Maize... Finally Fall is Here.

We had a super fun outing in Hondo at the South Texas Corn Maize. It was so nice and cool and very muddy. We finally welcomed the fall weather after a long hot summer. There were so many activities for the kids... these are just a few of them.
Carter loved jumping on the popcorn jumper!
We took a real hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.

The boys ran wild in the tall grass and went to look at the cattle.

The girls gathered pumpkins.

We played games with the ducks and water and slid down the slide.

We loved petting the goats... Addie kept yelling "dog" at them. No use arguing with a 16 month old.

Carter had a ball jumping the hay bales.

The girls chased eachother around the string maize.
And after all that... we didn't even get to do the famous hour long 10 foot tall corn maize. I guess we will have to go back next year!
