Port A: Ghost Shrimpn'

One of our very favorite beach activities....
Carter and Ella were quite the Ghost Shrimping duo.
Once Ella picked up the shrimp, if we didn't have a bucket nearby, she would shove the 5 inch long thing into Carter's shorts.
Before I knew it, I had become the depository for hats and sunglasses.
Ella and Carter searching for more holes.
 Addie just enjoying the view.
This has got to be the BEST family photo in our history. Some how, Carter is carrying Blake's drink and he instinctively knew to try to get it out of the picture. I promise, we have not trained our son. We didn't know this was what he was doing until we looked back at the photo.

Birthday Morning Traditions!

As Addie's two week birthday reign on the blog, I didn't want to forget the memory of her actual birthday morning. It was SO nice that it fell on a Sunday AND MeMe was in town for the BIG day! Of course, Addie chose her special breakfast to include her ultimate FAVORITE food right now.... PANCAKES. But since it was her fourth birthday, we stepped it up a notch and made them with lots of mini chocolate chips and even some whip cream, neither of which she had ever had with pancakes before!
Then she opened gifts from all of us!
Meme puts such thought into all of her grand kids presents each year and this year was no different. Apparently, Addie had told Meme on several occasions, she really wanted a princess castle. Well, Meme waved her magic Meme wand and arrived a beautiful wooden castle that both she and Carter couldn't get enough of.

Easter Activites!

The absolute hit toy of the moment is Carter's Christmas gift from Ya-Ya, what he has declared as his "funky bike!" All 6 of the kids couldn't get enough.
Then we had a best of three "tug-o-war" BOYS vs. GIRLS!
We hopped across the street to find a bunny rabbit hanging from the tree.
While the kids rushed for the candy, the adults had planned some REVENGE... and were armed with their own set of cascarones!
Holidays are so much fun as a parent to just sit back and watch the children just have fun!
After a quick check in on Mema across the street, we decided to bring back a Easter tradition from 2010....
The famous EGG TOSS! It was incredible, yet again, how the simple game can bring out the competive juices in ages from 3 to 73!
One of the last events of the weekend was a 100 yard dash that Blake was challenged to:
The looser got an egg on their head... the raw kind.
I just love our Easter lake weekends. You never know what to expect.
